2-DAY-CLIMB ANTISANA  (5.758 m / 18,891 ft)

Antisana is Ecuador's 4th highest mountain and despite its beauty, one of the least climbed ones. The glaciers are very active and there are many impressive crevasses, what makes the mountain more demanding and technically challenging. Being a bit remote in the Antisana Ecolocigal Reserve and part of the Oriental Range, we recommend to schedule your climb in the dry season from November to February.

starting points & pick up:
Machachi or Quito

DAY 1 - Camping site "La Virgen":

From our starting point we drive to the Antisana Ecological Reserve and after registration at the lagoon Mica, further up to the base camp of Antisana at approximately 4.700 m / 15,419 ft, where we set up our camp. Enjoying the unique nature, we will have an early dinner and will spend the night in our tents.

DAY 2 - Antisana Summit:

Depending on group size and weather conditions we start the ascent to Antisana around 1 a.m. The tour is technically challenging due to the conditions of the glacier. After approximately 7 hours you will reach the summit. The descent takes another 3 - 5 hours, before being back at the base camp and leaving the Natural Park.

NOTE: If your time budget allows it, Antisana Ecological Reserve is a great spot for adding an additional day and visiting lagoon Mica with a bit more time.
